The Camden County Public Safety Complex / Camden County Jail is operated by the Camden County Sheriff's Office. The facility is at 209 E. 4th Street in Woodbine, the county seat, and the same address is used for sheriff and jail contact. The public roster lists the housing facility as Camden County Public Safety Complex, so searches may show that name even when a person or family member uses the shorter Camden County Jail name.

The jail holds people arrested by the sheriff, people brought in by municipal police agencies, pretrial felony and misdemeanor defendants, local sentenced jail inmates, and detainees waiting for court action or transfer. The official jail handbook says a person may be in the Camden County Jail after arrest, after being bound over from one of the county's municipalities, or as the responsibility of the sheriff. Official research did not locate a rated bed capacity for the Camden County Public Safety Complex. That gap matters because third-party capacity figures conflict and should not be used for a Camden County jail capacity claim. The strongest local figures come from the county budget and the public roster. Camden County's FY 2025 adopted budget estimated an inmate daily average of 180, while the New World current-custody query showed 139 public in-custody records when inspected on June 4, 2026.

A daily average is not the same as a live roster count. The budget figure averages jail population over a fiscal period, while the roster count is a point-in-time snapshot of public current-custody records. The roster can also omit fields that are exempt, pending, blank, or not shown to the public.

Look Up Camden Jail Inmates

The official Camden County jail lookup is the Camden County Sheriff's Office Inmate Inquiry, a New World Systems roster. The sheriff's official Corrections page links to this IP-address roster, and the current-custody version showed 139 records during the June 4, 2026 research inspection. The roster covers current and older booking history, but the public view does not show mugshots. The footer on the roster says photos were removed per O.C.G.A. 50-18-72.

The search form lets users search by name, subject number, booking number, booking date range, custody status, and housing facility. The housing facility dropdown publicly showed Camden County Public Safety Complex as the available facility. Results include a clickable name, subject number, in-custody status, scheduled release date if posted, race, gender, height, weight, multiple-bookings flag, and housing facility.

2. Check the In Custody box when the goal is current Camden County jail custody only.

Camden County jail mail rules are narrow. The research found that personal mail is limited to plain white postcards and email. Postcards may not have pictures or backgrounds, and inmates cannot receive letters. All postcards and email are subject to search and screening. The mailing format is the inmate's name followed by P.O. Box 699, Woodbine, GA 31569. A return address should be included so mail can be returned when needed.

Money found during intake is deposited into the inmate account. The handbook says funds can be used for bond, commissary purchases, medical costs, and costs tied to lost or destroyed items. Because the official sources expose both Legacy and JailATM references, users should confirm the active deposit provider at the time of payment.

Camden Jail Intake

Booking at Camden County Jail begins with identity, property, money, medical, search, hygiene, and account steps. The handbook says each arrestee must provide current and accurate identification information, give up all items and money for inventory and storage, cooperate with health screening and medical-history forms, disclose medical issues or special conditions, submit to identification and search procedures, and acknowledge receipt and understanding of the handbook.

New inmates are issued a black-and-white striped uniform, shower shoes, towel, washcloth, two blankets, mattress, new inmate shower kit, and armband. Classification is first assigned based on sex, offense status, violent nature of the offender, and other risk factors. The roster sample confirmed that classification can appear publicly, with one current booking showing Minimum classification, but internal housing details such as pod or cell are not published in the public roster.
